How does NeurOptimal® Dynamical neurofeedback® work?
How it works during a session:
-
Sit back in a comfortable chair while gentle sensors are placed on your scalp and ears.
-
Listen to relaxing music through earphones or a headset, with occasional subtle pauses in the audio.
-
These interruptions act as real-time feedback, alerting the brain to its own activity patterns.
-
The brain then uses this data to self-adjust and reorganize its functioning for optimal performance.
-
There is no effort required by you, simply relax and let the process unfold. (sleep, watch tv, read etc.)
-
Each neurofeedback session is 33 minutes long, personalized by your brain working directly with it's natural processes, allowing it to self-correct in real time without the need for active effort. (the entire appointment is about an hour to include the placement and removal of equipment, initial consult or tracking goal appointments once in a while may run up to an hour and a half)
-
There is allotted time for setup and removal of the equipment at each session as well as for goal setting at the initial appointment and tracking discussion time every 3-5 sessions depending on how frequently you plan to book your sessions for.
Are NeurOptimal® Dynamical neurofeedback® sessions safe? NeurOptimal® neurofeedback is a dynamical system which is a safe and a non-invasive experience which can be used at any age. (This is a different system than a linear system)
How many sessions will I need? There is no set number of NeurOptimal® sessions that is right for everyone. Each person’s experience is different, so you can decide how often and how long you would like to continue based on your preferences and what you notice during training. Some clients begin with more frequent sessions and later choose to return whenever they feel a session would be helpful.
How often can I do a session? Session frequency is flexible. Some clients train several times per week, while others prefer a different schedule. You can choose the frequency that feels right for you.
Can I do longer sessions? We recommend following the built-in 33-minute neurofeedback session duration. This is the standard length designed for NeurOptimal® training. (the appointment itself will be about an hour to include the placement and removal of equipment, initial consult or tracking goal appointments once in a while may run up to an hour and a half)
With repeated Sessions, this real-time feedback supports the brain's ability to reorganize itself, promoting greater flexibility, stability, and resilience.
